You're invited to celebrate Sasha and Leo's tenth anniversary ... it's going to be a killer party.

Ten years ago, Sasha and Leo’s wedding turned bloody when armed mercenaries stormed the remote eco-resort and took the couple and their guests hostage. In the end, love won, and the pair made it down the aisle.

Now, a decade later, they gather eight of their closest friends to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary and ring in the new year at an exclusive estate. But within hours of their arrival, a fierce winter storm rolls in, cutting them off from the outside world.

Their estate hosts are off the property when the weather hits, which means it's just the anniversary party and one other group—ten old college pals having their annual holiday reunion. Sasha, Leo, and their crew have managed much worse, so they hunker down to make the best of it.

Then, a guest in the reunion group is murdered. With no way to get help, a killer on the prowl, and a sinking feeling that the wrong group may have been targeted, Sasha, Leo, and their friends have no choice but to confront the danger head-on and solve the mystery themselves.

The Anniversary Party is a sharp, suspenseful, and twisty mystery in which every move counts and every offhand remark might be a clue. It’ll keep you guessing until the very end. This book features some of the author's most beloved characters, including Sasha McCandless-Connelly and Leo Connelly, Aroostine Higgins, Bodhi King, and Maisy Farley, along with several other familiar faces.

Fans of Knives Out and Glass Onion will love this modern take on the closed circle mystery, with a wisecracking married couple and their fiercely loyal friend group at the center of the action.

Party with Sasha and Leo

Party planning just doesn't seem to go well for this couple. I thought this story had a lot going on--a blizzard, the cold, power outages, treks through the snow (sometimes without coats), suspects--and friends Aroostine, Bohdi, and others. I thought the story moved a bit slowly at times, but that might well have been my own impatience. I was so sure I knew who the culprit was, and then he himself was murdered. The clues were there, but I did not see them until almost the end. This is what I love about Sasha and Leo stories. I will try to out think the clues, and then be surprised.
I was given a copy of this book in return for my review. I must admit I do not submit reviews often (this is only my second review of a mystery). I am late posting these comments for which I am sorry. But I loved sitting up on a Winter night with a cup of tea and reading and loving this story. Thank you, Sasha, Leo, and Melissa!

Wow! Tenth anniversary. Time flies with Sasha and Leo.

As a long time fan of Melissa Miller I was thrilled to receive an advance review copy of The Anniversary Party. Unfortunately, due to the holidays I was unable to post a review in a timely manner. I have been following Melissa Miller’s Sasha McCandless since the first book was published in 2011. I have also read the book series featuring Aroostine Higgins and Bodi King who also appear as characters in The Anniversary Party.

I will skip a short synopsis of the book as this information is available from the publisher. What I will say is that a murder mystery during a snow storm made me think of Agatha Christie’s Murder On The Orient Express. Of course the similarity of a snow bound group of suspects and a despicable and unlikable victim is as far as the comparison goes.

The cast of characters is long and I sometimes felt like I needed a cheat sheet to keep track of the characters in the reunion group and their relationships. Being a Melissa Miller follower I was familiar with all of the characters in the anniversary group.

As is expected in a Melissa Miller book the dialogue and interaction among the characters is fun especially between Sasha and Leo.

Overall this is a satisfying murder mystery that I highly recommend. While it is nice to know some of the background and history of the anniversary party characters, this mystery is fine as a stand alone book and does not require reading the previous books.

What a fun ride!

The Anniversary Party is full of all the characters we love from Melissa Miller, with a fun who-dun-it they work together to solve. Sasha and Leo just want to celebrate their 10th anniversary with their friends, hopefully without the same drama as occurred during their wedding. Alas, the other party booked for the same getaway venue, had other plans. The parties are snowed in and the owners are away from the resort, with a blizzard keeping them and help from arriving. Luckily, Sasha and Leo along with their friends, are always ready to solve the unsolvable. I loved this addition to the series.

Fantastic story line!

What a fun book to read! Suspects are constantly changing and new clues show up and change so quickly, it gives you whiplash. You’ll also enjoy a lot of laughs with this group of friends (with a bizarre and unexpected backstory). Looking forward to reading more of this author’s books!

I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

fast paced and fun

Sasha and Leo's anniversary party with their friends is interrupted by murder. It then becomes a real-life murder mystery where they need their friends to help solve. As they work to find clues and discover the killer, they have to deal with a blizzard and the inability to get in touch with the authorities for help. It was fast-paced and fun story to read with a great cast of characters.

A wild winter adventure!

Leo and Sasha are looking forward to spending a relaxing weekend with their closest friends to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
No phones, no work-talk, no weapons!
Of course, all of that backfires when tragedy strikes and this team of friends must solve the mystery before anyone else gets hurt.
In true MM fashion, this was a page-turner and had me guessing!
Another excellent read!

Great Read - as always

I read the book - too fast – as always. I hate coming to the last couple of chapters of Melissa’s books.... that means it’s over too soon.

OH! MY! STARS! Love it!

No spoilers, but there is an interesting plot twist (as always – Melissa is a master of keeping us guessing and working things out right up to the end) that I actually knew a little bit about from real life. Good job on that one!

This group of friends is something I think we all aspire to – maybe without the criminal/murder part, but still....

The setting, drama and humor is, as always, a good balance.

Thank you, Melissa, for another great read!

Great story

I have read quite few books by this author and this one also holds your attention as you read it.
Interesting characters have come together. One group to celebrate a wedding anniversary and the other one cobbled together by an unliked person, along with interesting interactions to keep you reading and wondering how the story will end.

Shasa's Anniversary

Always excellent reading from Ms. Miller. This book included all of my favorite characters. It was a Clue meets Agatha Christie "who dun-it" in my opinion. A must-read for Shasha fans.
